Most European countries have legislation similar to that of the Netherlands. This means that if your music is played in other countries, as a music maker, you will be entitled to receive payment. We have made agreements with various international organisations. Thanks to these agreements, all you have to do is register with Sena. For this to work, it is important that you give us a global mandate, so we can represent you abroad and make sure that if your music is played abroad, you get paid for it.
HOW DO WE COLLECT FROM ABROAD?
If your music is being played abroad, make sure to register your repertoire with us as soon as possible. The sooner, the better. We will then immediately get to work to collect your fee from abroad.
Method for collection abroad
HAVE YOU AS A PRODUCER PUBLISHED PARTS OF YOUR REPERTOIRE ABROAD?
Producers who have published their repertoire abroad can give us a mandate to collect their neighbouring rights abroad. Keep in mind that you should still be in possession of the rights to ‘fair remuneration’. In other words: it is important that you haven’t issued a collection authorisation or given away your rights to a licensee.
RIGHTS BY TITLE, BY COUNTRY
To submit accurate and correct claims, we request the rights per track, per country. In this way, we can avoid double claims. This also means that you won’t have to wait unnecessarily long for your fee and will get what you are entitled to as soon as possible.
