Are you a professional musician and do you want to release your music in a digital or physical format, but are you short of cash? The Sena Music Production Fund can help you out with the support you need to take the next step in your musical career.
Who can apply?
1. Only professional performing artists (artists) and producers (working more than 20 hours a week as a performing artist and/or producer) who want to release a CD/music production and are registered with Sena are eligible for applications from the Sena Music Production Fund.
1.1 Producers can apply 5 times a year for 5 different acts. Artists can apply once a year for a minimum of 3 tracks or a complete CD/music production. 1.2 No new application may be submitted by an artist/producer if the loan component of a previous grant to the artist/producer in question has not been repaid on time. 1.3 No new application may be submitted if after 2 years it appears that no release has taken place of the CD/music production for which a contribution was granted in the past.
Application rounds in 2023
As in previous years, there will be several application rounds in 2023. An overview can be found below. Applicants will be told whether their application has been successful within three months.
Application round 1: 14 November 2022 until 12 March 2023
Application round 2: 13 March 2023 until 25 June 2023
Application round 3: 26 June 2023 until 12 November 2023
Application round 2024:
Application round 1: 13 November 2023 t/m 10 March 2024
Application round 2: 11 March 2024 t/m 23 June 2024
Application round 3: 24 June 2024 t/m 10 November 2024
This means that sunday 23 June is the deadline for the next application round. Applications received after that date will be carried over to the next application round.
How to apply
If you want to make your own recording too, check the terms and conditions (Dutch) to see whether your application qualifies for funding. If it does, complete the application form and send the form (Dutch), including all necessary attachments and as a single file by email to sociaalcultureel@sena.nl.
Please note that effective March 11, 2024, the Sena Music Production Fund's grant criteria will be adjusted. Information about the new grant criteria will be published on this website at the end of April. Applications based on the old grant criteria will not be processed.
Each year, the Sena Music Production Fund receives more than 400 requests for funds out of its annual budget of €500,000, so only a limited number of applications will be successful. All funding decisions are made by Sena’s Performers Section, following consultation with an advisory committee. Applications are assessed by the committee on the basis of a number of criteria, as specified in the funding terms and conditions.
